Journal 1: The Month of Love & A New Beginning

Hi everybody! Welcome to my first blog post. Today, I'm writing a reflection on January, then I'll share a few life lessons that I've learned in January. Afterwards, I will end the post with my goals for February.

January

January was definitely a long and intensive month for me because many things have changed in my career. I think everything happens for a reason and there was a valid reason why I chose to leave my job. There was a reason why I had to over come some obstacles in my life in January.

So, I wouldn't say this was an ideal way to start the new year (haha), however I learned so much about life and myself in January. So, if you did have a rough January, just know that you were not alone! Many people struggled too and it's a reminder to all of us that life is full of ups and downs. We just have to continue to move forward the best that we can.

Reality Check

After Kobe & Gigi Bryant's death (along with the 7 other victims who passed away due to the helicopter crash), I can honestly say that this news gave me and many people a reality check that we all (sort of) needed to see and hear.

What this unexpected news taught me was:

1) be thankful for the people in your life because you will never know when they will disappear for good. If you haven't told someone that you love or appreciate them, today is the day to do it! If you're thankful for someone or something, then today express that gratitude!

2) If you have a chance to pursue your dreams, now is the time to do it. Don't let life pass you by because someday you might not be able to pursue your dreams.

3) Live your life to the fullest and always (try) to be the best version of yourself. No matter how tough things get, always remember that you are a strong person who can accomplish anything!

February

For this month, I am going to focus on doing things that I love and enjoy that I've neglected for the past few months. Of course, I have to straighten out my personal life and career. That's definitely the main priority for February, but I don't want to rush the process.

Also, I want February to be a month that really focuses on love, happiness, and peace. So, I trust that this month will be wonderful and I can't wait to see what's in store for February!

So my question for you is, what are your goals for February 2020?

I personally am going through a lot right now and February is a constant struggle for me, so my goal for this months is to focus on the good things in my life and to get more stable with myself again.

    wish you all the best,

    Tiziana

[K-Drama Review] Melting Me Softly

Melting Me Softly caught my attention a few months ago. I decide to give this drama a chance in late November. After I finished the drama, I knew I had to write a review on it because I had some mix feelings about it.

Disclaimers | Semi-Spoiler Free

Synopsis

Set in 1999, this drama follows Ma Dong-cha and Go Mi-ran, two people who decide to participate in a "Frozen Human Experiment." However, something goes wrong and instead of them waking up in 24-hours, they wake up 20 years later. Worse part, they have to maintain a 31.5 C / 88-90 degree F in order to survive.

Melting Me Softly had A LOT of potential and I was expecting so much from this drama. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed and I was a bit disappointed to say the least. However, I want to share some positive things I did notice in this 16-episode series.

First, if you're a 90s kids you'll definitely feel nostalgic watching this drama. From flip phones, CD players, and 90s fashion, this drama did a fantastic job …

Effort - In order for you to make friends in college, you have to put some effort down. Whether it's joining an academic club, greek life, sport(s) team, attending a party, or socializing with your classmates, some form of effort needs to happen in order for you to meet new people.
